Women's Tennis: Hopes for Title Dented after Big Losses

China suffered a heavy blow at Doha tennis court as the top seeds lost to Uzbekistan at the women's team quarter-finals on Tuesday.

China's first singles Zheng Jie, ranked 33rd in the world, did not hit the top gear, losing to 208th-ranked Akgul Amanmuradova 6- 3, 3-6, 7-6.

China's Asian number one and 21st-ranked Li Na was not in form either, losing 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 to Asian Games defending singles champion Iroda Tulyaganova.
