The Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) delivered its all-star prize, which awards the best players, coaches and referees that took part in the Brazilian League, ended on Sunday.
CBF held the awarding ceremony at Rio de Janeiro's Municipal Theater on Monday evening. Team Sao Paulo, which won the League title in 2006, also received five of the nine prizes to which their players were nominated.
The winners are: Best goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni (Sao Paulo), Best right wingback Souza (Sao Paulo), Best left wingback Marcelo (Fluminense/currently in Real Madrid), Best right defender Fabao (Sao Paulo), Best left defender Fabiano Eller (internacional), Best first defensive midfielder Mineiro (Sao Paulo), Best second defensive midfielder Lucas (Gremio), Best right midfielder Ze Roberto (Botafogo), Best left midfielder Renato (Flamengo), Best first striker Fernandao (Internacional). Best second striker Souza (Goias) Best head coach Muricy Ramalho (Sao Paulo), Best referee Leonardo Gaciba.
Goias Souza was also the top scorer in the competition, with 17 goals. The team that committed the lowest number of technical infractions in the League, Vasco da Gama, received the Fair Play Award.
Two-time world champion Djalma Santos, who played as right wingback for Brazil's national team in the Cups of 1954, 1958, 1962 and 1966, was given a lifetime achievement award.
